DESCRIPTION
This listing is for Ocamponis family cuttings and rooted plants. Each order includes one cutting or one rooted plant, which you can select from the drop-down menu. These varieties were originally imported from Mexico.
- Cuttings are approximately 10–12 inches long.
- Rooted plants are approximately 12 inches long and will be shipped bare-rooted.
- Larger plants may be requested for an additional charge.
Ocamponis Grilla and Ocamponis Albino produce yellow-skinned fruit similar to Palora, but with white flesh. They are sweet with a more complex flavor than Palora. These varieties are self-sterile, so cross-pollination is required.
Ocamponis Red and Ocamponis Purple (also known as Marada) have red and purple flesh, respectively. With a Brix score of 19, they are very sweet. Cross-pollination is also required for these varieties.
All Ocamponis varieties develop a thin white protective coating on the stems, which helps protect the plant during extreme heat.

IMPORTANT: Please slowly acclimate these plants to full sun. Sudden exposure to direct sunlight may cause sunburn.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
If you purchase a cutting, please allow the cut end to dry and callous before placing it in soil or water. Planting the cutting too early may result in rot. Once planted, keep the cutting in a shaded area until it is rooted, then gradually acclimate it to full sun.
If you purchase a rooted plant, slowly acclimate it to partial sun and then to full sun. If temperatures rise above 95°F, we recommend placing your plants under shade cloth. If the temperature drops below 32°F, provide appropriate protection.
Care Tips:
Soil: Use cactus mix or other well-draining soil.
Light: Full sun to partial sun.
Water: Dragon fruit does not like sitting in water. Water only when the soil is completely dry.
Fertilizer: Chicken or cow manure, compost, or fish fertilizer can be used.
