Rebutia heliosa, Cactus, Live plant

Description

DESCRIPTION

You will receive approximately 4" pot-sized plant similar in the photos.
This item will be shipped bare root or in original plastic pots, whichever is better for the plant. We handpick to order and make sure all are healthy plants before shipping.

Rebutia heliosa is a small, clustering cactus native to the high-altitude regions of Bolivia and Argentina. It is prized for its compact, globular shape and dense covering of golden-yellow spines that give it a soft, fuzzy appearance. This charming cactus forms tight clusters of small, round stems that rarely exceed 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.

In spring and summer, Rebutia heliosa produces vibrant orange to red funnel-shaped flowers that emerge from the base of the plant, providing a striking contrast to its spiny body. Its slow growth and manageable size make it an ideal choice for windowsills, rock gardens, or succulent collections.

Care Requirements:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to partial sun. Avoid intense midday sun which may scorch the plant.
  • Water: Water moderately during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.
  • Soil: Well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix is essential.
  • Temperature: Prefers cooler temperatures, ideally between 50–75°F (10–24°C). Protect from frost.
  • Growth Habit: Clumping, small, and slow-growing.

Special Features:

  • Attractive golden-yellow spines giving a fuzzy look
  • Bright, colorful flowers in spring and summer
  • Compact and easy to care for
  • Perfect for small spaces and beginner cactus collectors
