Sulcorebutia rauschii, Cactus, Live plant

Description

DESCRIPTION

Sulcorebutia rauschii is a small, globular cactus native to the high-altitude regions of Bolivia. It forms tight clusters of spherical stems covered with prominent ribs and distinctive tubercles. The plant is admired for its striking, dense spination, which ranges in color from white to yellowish, giving it a unique textured appearance.

During the blooming season, Sulcorebutia rauschii produces vibrant, funnel-shaped flowers in shades of orange to red, often covering the plant in a colorful display. Its compact size and ease of care make it an excellent choice for succulent enthusiasts and collectors.

Care Requirements:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight to partial sun. Avoid intense midday sun.
  • Water: Water moderately during the growing season, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering significantly during winter.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix.
  • Temperature: Prefers cooler, dry conditions and should be protected from frost.
  • Growth Habit: Slow-growing, clumping, and compact.

Special Features:

  • Dense and colorful spines
  • Bright orange to red flowers
  • Compact and easy to care for
  • Ideal for small pots and rock gardens
